COMPLETION
Right Action
through the integration of knowledge and experience
The goal of the soul (dependent upon your point of view) is to return or to evolve to a pristine state of consciousness. This refining process takes place over many lives and explains the difference in individual attitudes and behaviour; in simple terms the task is to complete the journey. To do this we must master not only the physical world but the mental and emotional aspects of our personality.
As we progress on the soul journey we become increasingly aware of the consequence of our actions and begin to make more considered choices. We must learn how to curb emotional response if we are ever to develop a true sense of spiritual connection to something greater than ourselves.
This is a Process
An Evolution of Consciousness
First we hurt others and justify our actions...
Then we learn not to hurt others to avoid the penalty imposed……
As we develop ‘a conscience’, we only hurt others to protect ourselves or others……….
In time we learn that retaliation simply perpetuates the cycle of repetition.
CYCLES OF LEARNING
Every day is a new opportunity for learning
You may not like the lessons
None are irrelevant
Life grants us the lesson in many ways until it is learned
WE LEARN INCREMENTALLY
Completion of a given task
reflects our capacity for understanding
The toddler learns not to touch what is hot
The child learns to tie its shoe laces, go to school, cross the road….
The teenager learns the effects of
abusing drugs and alcohol and of promiscuous sex
The adult learns to sustain relationships through mutual
cooperation and respect
SLOWLY
WE ACCEPT THE TOOLS
WHICH ALLOW US TO COMPLETE THE TASK
TIME KEEPING DECISION MAKING COMMITMENT
We learn to
Accept our failures by recognising our vulnerabilities
Correct our mistakes without blaming others
Contribute to the good of the whole
Forgive ourselves and others
FINALLY
We learn to give unconditionally
ACHIEVING COMPLETION
We can then lead others to the same truth
Mahatma Ghandi: One World
Quotes from Mahatma Ghandi:
“An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind.”
“A man is but the product of his thoughts, what he thinks, he becomes.”
“Be the change that you want to see in the world.”
“I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary;
the evil it does is permanent.”
“I think it would be a good idea” (When asked what he thought of Western civilization)
“When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it—always.”
