THROAT CHAKRA

The throat chakra is a major power centre and therefore linked to personal empowerment; it is through the voice that we express and reveal our true nature. The throat chakra responds to the emotional energy of the solar plexus chakra, therefore any emotional imbalance is reflected in vocal expression. The throat tightens or closes when we become emotional or refuse to express our true feelings.

In ‘Rhythms of Vision’ Lawrence Blair writes about the study of the interrelationship between wave-forms and matter called ‘Cymatics’. The late Hans Jenny built a tonoscope to transform sounds into their visual representation, the universal sound ‘OM’ produces a circle with the correct utterance of the ‘O’. By the time the ‘M’ fades away the circle has become filled with concentric triangular shapes, identical to the centre of the Sri Yantra Mantra, meditation upon which is said to produce the visual after image of the Central Sun.

Sound is the consequence of movement of the ether, it can be affected by natural means, i.e. the elements in concert, the song of the life streams, e.g. whale song, dolphin call or the human voice with all its possibilities.

Each vowel represents a specific frequency and resonates within the auric field of the body and the planet. These can be observed by the oscilloscope which measures resonance.

which mankind maintained the link to the Universal Mind.

The spiritual awareness of the people is best measured by their use of voice, instrumentation and movement. The rise and fall of consciousness is directly linked to the use or abuse of sound. In the present day the abuse has reached a new low.

The voice expresses the Will.

It can be used as a tool to inspire or as a weapon to wound.

Words can be constructive or destructive.

They impact at the mental, emotional and physical level.

THE COLLECTIVE VOICE MAGNIFIES THE EFFECT FOR GOOD OR ILL.

Language is a barometer of consciousness and may be used to express sublime truths, slang or obscenity; there is therefore a direct correlation between communication, understanding and behaviour. The marked deterioration in language and the current acceptance of profanity is a demonstration of the lack of awareness of the link between vibration and consciousness.

Those who have inspired generations often possess the gift of oratory, Dr Martin Luther King being a notable example. Through the power of the spoken word Dr King galvanized the Peace movement, using the mantra “We shall overcome” to free black Americans from segregation.
