The heart is an organ of communication, managing 75 trillion cells. Over 60% of these are neural, providing a means of communication with the neural pathways of the brain. Energetic communication is constant between the heart and the brain, assisting emotional processing, sensory experience and memory.

SPIRITUAL CONNECTION THROUGH THE HEART
The heart has long been associated with love and romance - this is due to the fact that it is a sensory organ. We recognize emotional response through the heart, our heart beats faster or skips a beat at significant moments. The physical heart is linked to emotional centres through the endocrine system but is also linked through the electromagnetic field to the primary impulse, which originates with the Higher Self or Superconscious awareness. It is therefore the intermediary between body and soul.

Emotional response is often mistaken for love
Emotion is linked to Need, a demand - Taking
Love is linked to the ability to Give - Warmth
Unconditional love – Selflessness
The ability to give and to receive
This should not be confused with responding to the needs of others or to our own inner need both of which are ego based. Constant giving without receiving results in imbalance. The consequence can be fatal as in heart attack.
Hardness of heart is the greatest disease afflicting mankind today. It results in fatigue, illness and ultimately disconnection from life. The heart centre is where the spiritual energies converge to raise the energy to the higher centres to bring true spiritual awareness. When we persist in making demands upon life and upon each other we limit and block our own spiritual progress. The pain of past experience shields and armours the heart against repetition, only when we find the courage to set aside the pain of the past can we truly begin to experience life through the warmth of loving emotion.
The solar plexus is the seat of emotion
When this is balanced
The energy rises to the Heart – The Seat of Love
The heart is a listening organ of perception.
It believes and magnifies what it hears.
If loving, it amplifies love.
If fearful, angry or envious
it will amplify Fear, Anger, Envy.
Through technology we can now demonstrate that the heart
can produce visible and measurable light during meditation.
This only occurs when the focus is compassion.
